7 Tips On How To Balance A Full Time Job And Your Network Marketing Business

If you are like I was when I first got started in my network marketing business you're trying to figure out how to balance it all, am I right?

When I first got started in network marketing, I was a single mother working a full time job and also a full time college student. When you look in the dictionary my picture was there under the word TIRED, lol.

Somehow, someway after my many mistakes and misadventures I was able to make it all balance out and work. In 2010, I was finally able to walk away from my full-time for good with the help of my work at home business which actually is a large business that sustains itself pretty much it's all done online and I'm so grateful for that.

Isn't the goal of every work at home mom to able to stop working or be able to slow down in no matter what business they're in and enjoy life which is what my family's goal was. Gratefully this year our family decided we wanted to do something different other than hosting webinars, conference calls, training events and just do more fun traveling which is why we decided to join a VIP travel club which helps us do just that!!

Traveling may not be your ultimate goal but think about it, what do you want to do when you're also able to financially stay at home full time, what would you want to do?

So I'm sure you're probably wondering how the heck did I do that being that I have a full time job and small children. Let me tell you, if I could do it so can you.

7 Tips On How To Balance A Full Time Job And Your Network Marketing Business

1. Choose A Company You're Passionate About. When my husband and I first got into network marketing I can honestly say we loved the concept of network marketing but weren't really passionate about the company and were actually seeing some successes in the beginning. So make sure you find something you lvoe and RUN full steam ahead with it.

2. How Much Extra Money Do You Want To Make? Sit down and figure out how much extra money your household can use right now that would make a difference in helping to either pay a bill or may help you enjoy different new adventures with your children. When you kids are reaping the benefits from your benefits, they'll understand the times you have to be away from home.

3. Schedule Your Time Figure out how many hours of the day you can commit to the business. This is actually something my husband and I still ask our new representatives who join our business so we can both have a reasonable expectation of what  they will get out of their business and how much time they'll need to get it.

4. Do Not Quit Your Day Job! I am totally talking from experience on this one because when we first got started in network marketing my husband and I thought it was a great idea for him to leave his cushy law enforcement job because we were so excited!!! We struggled for many years when we first got started which I think was another reason our first business failed.

5. Make Time For Family This one is probably obvious BUT believe me still needs to be said. Over the years I have seen and still see so many network marketers focus on business, business, business, and the next thing you know it, the kids are 18 years old and off to college and the parents are wondering where the time has gone.

6.  Include Your Children Whenever Possible. I know you're thinking business + children don't mix but I can tell you we've made it work, As a matter of fact, we still do!!! Whenever we have to visit a new city to speak at a training event or for a business meeting, we make it seem as though the trip is a new family trip for our children to go on. We make sure we stay a couple of days after the meeting or event so our kids can enjoy the local sites and of course the hotel amenities like the pool and arcade room. Alot of people are so suprised to see us with our kids at these events but we look at it this way, if we can't involve our kids we can't do it!

7. Have Fun!!!  Like I said in the very beginning of this post EVERY parent's ultimate goal is to be able to work hard in the beginning so they could be able to step away from the business (not quit) but not have to work as hard and enjoy life like travel, homeschool children, quit their full time job and start a new hobby, etc. But make sure you're haivng fun during the process because life is too short to to just be business everyday.

Working from home sometimes can be difficult BUT if I knew then that all I had to do is focus really work hard at every open opportunity I could I probably would of work that much hard way faster because since 2010 I've been able to be at every school event, trip, after school concert without the worry of having to ask for time off. As a matter of fact, I'm actually researching about homeschooling our children because our goal this year is to travel more and didn't want to let the school schedule determine when or where we could travel to. See there's independence and benefits at the end of all that hard work and the sky's the limit IF you put your mind to it if it's your ultimate goal.

Did these tips help? If so feel free to comment or share with your teammates.

And if you have any experience homeschooling please share those with me too since that's actually my next adventure!!

  5. Nice tips here Lynette! So many people use their busy schedule as an excuse to not get the more important things done. I believe that if something is truly a priority in life, you can find time for it. I like to go through my day and find pockets of time that I am wasting. Then I can allocate them to something worth doing!
Thanks for the great advice. Lisa
