Wouldn't you love to have a team of leaders that totally take their business to the next level?

Most of you may know that for the last couple of days we were attending a high intensive network marketing training event called Top Earner Academy Live and let me tell you, it was one of the best trainings we've taken since last year's event.

One of the speakers this weekend, Jessica Nelson, who runs a successful network Million dollar business in her company shared some tips she uses to help keep her team engaged and excited and I wanted to share some of those tips with you here today.

How To Create Your Team Culture

1. Create a safe haven for your team. Create a positive happy place that people are beating the door to get into and refusing to leave.

Think of the type of foundation you'd want your "Dream Team" to look like.

What does your dream team look like?

Who are the players on the team?

How do they act?

What do they embody?

What are their priorities?

What do they focus on?

What brings them joy?

2. Set the goals. Remember, what you focus on, you improve upon. Think about what your team needs to improve on and set those goals ( sales, recruits, product usage, etc)

3. Most importantly recognizing what you track. Who doesn't love recognition right so why not show those who are working the hardest some AWESOME recognition. That recognition can be done directly onto their Facebook wall, onto your team group page, sending out a post card, through private message or a simple phone call to tell them how AWESOME they did this month.

Wouldn't you love to have more people ask YOU what you're doing or hey I'm ready to get started with what you're doing?

YES right, wouldn't we all!!

My husband and I have been using social media since basically it came out with MySpace, lol yes way back then!! We had no clue on what we were doing just created some connecting, posting our websites out there but no true direction on what to or not to do online.

We learned the hard way you can do things to push people away online and to attract people online to you.

Post Cool Photos. Take a look at the photo I used in this blog, doesn't it look like we're having fun YES right of course, people are attracted to those leaders who look like their enjoying their life, having a great time in their business.

No Spam Allowed. One of the things we've learned on social media was on our personal pages, post more of the fun you're having with your business or what you're business has done for you without mentioning the company. Think about it, if you have a friend, who ONLY posts about their business isn't it kind of annoying! I saw somewhere before a leader use an example of out of every 100 posts you share online about 5 be about your business.

Have One On One Conversations. Another tip I've learned also that creating those individual conversations with people were way more productive than the ones I just posted my link somewhere and expected to have leads knocking down my door.

Create Curiosity. One of the things that make MOST people curious online is when they have to ask us what we're doing. Because we work in a company that offers a service most people have to ask us what exactly it is. So guess what, that creates a new private conversation that you can take offline, speak to them over the phone to get their questions answered and get them signed up right away.

Be You Online & Share. Believe me and most of you know this; all of us can spot a phony a mile away so why push people away but being phony online. Post things that will make people want to better themselves. share inspiration, share tips or ideas. Help others whether online or offline and believe me it comes back to you. One of the biggest things we did for our business back in 2012 was help others and I tell you we've gotten so much back whether it's in all the success stories we get to hear, all the lives we've helped whether with our training or our service HELP others and believe me it comes back to you.

IF you'd like to get more tips like these on Social Media or successful tips for your network marketing business, I HIGHLY recommend you attending Top Earner Academy this week. Wouldn't you love a way to make sure that the summer vacation for your kids actually didn't affect your MLM business?

I know for most people who are working a full time job, the summer can be GREAT way to spend more quality time with your kids and for others it can be a stressful time for others because not only do they have to balance their jobs but now their children who'll be home eagerly wanting to do new things plus try to manage your MLM business.

Believe me when I say that I totally understand what you're going through. What most of us do is schedule our vacations in the summer when the kids are out of school then guess what, you're probably also putting your business on the backburner too.

Depending on what type of business you're in you probably can incorporate the kids with. When I was working in a product based company, I'd have my children put together different samples and books, drop those off to my customers quickly then we'd go about our day having fun. I made sure my business activities didn't take too much time away from their summer because think about it, you only get 18 summers with your children and then their off to college.

Find ways to be persistent in your business life because the children being off for the summer shouldn't be your excuse for not being able to work your business, they should be the reason you WORK HARD at your business.

This year my husband and I added a cool travel club just so we can enjoy different experiences with our kids because we didn't get this lesson right away when we first got involved with network marketing. We thought that more time on our business than enjoying the summer with our kids was the way to go and a couple of summers past and our children were just getting older. Make sure you're in a MLM company that works for you and your family, which I covered previously if you'd like to read that article click here

Summer is still upon us and there's PLENTY of time to still enjoy those precious memories with your children!!!
Wouldn't we all love to say we were able to quit our jobs and go full time in our network marketing business?

HECK YEAH, RIGHT?

Well let me first start off by saying we totally dropped the ball on this one and did it the WRONG WAY when my husband and I first got started in 1997. We were in our company for about 2-3 years and we both decided to go ALL IN in our company and BOY I wouldn't wish those struggles to my worst enemy. And of course the naysayers showed up with the "I told you so's" and we regretted every minute of it and ended up actually leaving that company because our financial stresses were just too great.

If I could talk to my younger self I'd YELL "DON'T DO IT" wait!!!!!

So let's talk about what did work for me and how I did it the RIGHT WAY!

Ok so what was going on for me is that I was working a full time job, married mother of 3 children children and as we spoke yesterday about how I scheduled around my family, if you missed that post just CLICK HERE so I won't go back into that one BUT I actually walked off my job when I was making a hundred dollars less at my full time job. I know what a difference BUT I didn't want to take a chance and quit too early as many network marketers knew and I knew if I was only a hundred off of what I was making full-time that if I was able to put more time into my business I could easily go past that amount.

One thing I think most network marketers do is they have a couple of successful months in their business and they think that money will keep coming in the same way throughout the year so if they could put more hours into their business they'll be able to keep making the money. Well let tell you from experience, IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN that way!!!

You are going to have times when you're not going to be paid at all for long periods of time and if you have children like I did that will be the hardest times of your life so why put everyone under unnecessary stress. I've heard other top income earners say that you should set aside at least 6 months of income now that's not to say quit after you have that much saved up, I mean when you're at the point where you are about to replace your income, have that amount set aside.

I hope my experience helps you when making your decision to quit your day job because I wish I would of read something like this when I was ready to quit!!

Wouldn't you love it, if the battle between your network marketing business and family life wasn't a battle?

I know right, I used to feel the exact same way and honestly it shouldn't be such a battle. I think depending on the type of MLM business you decide to get into, which we covered a couple of days ago, click here if you need to go back to it.

When I really started focusing on building my network marketing business in 2008, I was a married mother of 3 working a full-time job so when it comes to the excuse "no time" my photo was already in the dictionary smiling back at you!!

This post is not to share an EXACT schedule because let's be honest who's life is the same so there's no way for me to say do this and this and you'll also be successful. All I could do is share what worked for me and hopefully it can give you some ideas on what can work for you.

What I did and did so CONSISTENTLY was began working my business a couple of hours on the weekends and maybe once or twice during the week in the evenings. In the beginning IF I had to set up a business appointment after work I honestly tried to make sure that the appointment was a quick one so that I wouldn't get home so late to help the kids with homework, showers and most importantly before they went to bed for the evening.

I know the weekends can be sacred for some moms because these 2 days seems to be filled with our children's activities like soccer, baseball, or volleyball BUT sometimes I did have to sacrifice my weekends to work a network marketing to showcase my business. If I did have weekends that were filled with business activities I tried to make sure that the following weekend would be solely focused on the kids maybe doing like a dinner and movie.

The ONE thing that I wished I would of started from day 1 and I believe would of helped me grow even faster, is I wished I would of started advertising myself online. Let me tell you the moment I began getting orders online and recruits signing themselves up online, my business and life TOTALLY changed!!!

It actually took me 2 years to completely replace my full time job where I was able to totally walk away and enjoy life with my kids and I haven't honestly worried about my schedule ever since!! So the one takeaway I'd tell you is to take advantage of what your MLM company can help you do online so you can work on other business building activities like training your team or doing a 3-way call with a new prospect. Freeing up your time to spend more time with your family I'm sure if most of our goals so why not start working on that as quickly as you can from the very beginning.
If you know my story, you know when I first got started in network marketing I was a single mom & full time employee and college student. I had no clue whether I was coming or going half the time because I was so wiped out!!

When I first got into my first company I got in not really understanding or planning on how much I needed to make at all. I was in my 20's enjoying life and not understanding how to budget money much so this wasn't on my mind much at all, I'll be totally honest.

The beauty of network marketing as you grow most companies will tell you to work on yourself by personal development. This totally opened my eyes into thinking BIGGER and truly helping to learn how to manage our money.

After some years I had strayed away from network marketing to focus on my career and had 2 more children so like most families our situation changed. I was working a full time job making pretty good money but our family was growing and our space was growing smaller. I decided to get back into a direct sales company just to make some extra money while selling to co-workers at my full time job and what's crazy is how fast things can grow.

After you've chosen the right MLM company for you and your family, which I actually spoke about in my last post, click here to read that first if you need to. Figure out how much does your family need. Do you just need extra pocket money for gas, take out dinners or do you need money to help pay for car payments, mortgage etc because those answers will help you make a decision not only on the right company BUT give you a goal of how much money you need to work towards that month.

After just 2 years in that direct sales company, with the help of my husband, we had replaced the income from my full time job and we were actually able to relocate our family not from our small, tiny apartment but move across the country to a much warmer state.

Our lives have totally changed from living in a small 1 bedroom apartment with 5 people to a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, pool and gym in a much better community. It's funny how your life can change because in 2014 we were able to join a cool travel club which is a new goal of ours, we wanted to travel more with our children while they were still young so our goals have changed making sure we can take any trip any where in the world world.

So, I ask you how much extra money does your family need to make?

Figure out what goals you are your family want to achieve and go full steam ahead towards them!!
Wouldn't you wish there could just be a list of companies somewhere online where you could make a choice?

I know right but since there isn't one hopefully my experience can shed some light on how you can make your decision.

When I first got started back in 1999 I was a young single mom going to college and working full-time and had no clue what I should be looking for so not saying that I was in the wrong company at all because I believe it was fabulous and still are in service today. BUT I wish I would of read something like this when I was starting out because I think it would of saved me so much time and energy away from my children.

What I would do today if I were looking for a company is look for one who has been in business for several years and find out what is truly involved to service customers?

The way I was able to leave my full time job in 2010 was actually with a beauty products company where I had to personally deliver products to customers. Thankfully I was able to convert that local business from having myself driving around town going crazy making deliveries all across town, which I had been doing for years, and build a successful business online, where the company is actually servicing those customers so I don't have to any more.

Now don't get me wrong, I am friends with a lot of successful working and stay at home moms who are able to make a significant income from home with a products based company so I'm not against them at all and as you can see I was able to leave my full time job with a product based company. What I would do is my research, am find out if you are able to have the products shipped to them, who has to return products to the company if there is a mistake and how can I find new customers.

After almost 8 years in a products based company, my husband and I decided we wanted to spend more time with our children while they were still young and just enjoy life more. We're also looking to homeschool them and I wanted to be 100% present in their learning and not out having to make deliveries when I could be at home spending time enjoying their growth. Now you may feel differently when looking for a company and love servicing your customers , which don't get me wrong I loved the interaction with new people but I think I spent more time away from home and wasted more gas over the years I wanted my time back.

We took our time did alot of research which I suggest EVERYONE do before they go all in because there are definitely fly by night companies and decided to get involved with a reputable service MLM company that had great customer retention and solid reputation.

The number one factor I would think about is figuring out which company is best for you is YOU and YOUR family, I know my children have enjoyed the many benefits and trips we've been able to enjoy over the years we've been in network marketing.. Really find out what it takes to be involved and how much time away from your family you are willing to put into your business so you don't have any regrets or feel like you just wanted your time in the future.
If you are like I was when I first got started in my network marketing business you're trying to figure out how to balance it all, am I right?

When I first got started in network marketing, I was a single mother working a full time job and also a full time college student. When you look in the dictionary my picture was there under the word TIRED, lol.

Somehow, someway after my many mistakes and misadventures I was able to make it all balance out and work. In 2010, I was finally able to walk away from my full-time for good with the help of my work at home business which actually is a large business that sustains itself pretty much it's all done online and I'm so grateful for that.

Isn't the goal of every work at home mom to able to stop working or be able to slow down in no matter what business they're in and enjoy life which is what my family's goal was. Gratefully this year our family decided we wanted to do something different other than hosting webinars, conference calls, training events and just do more fun traveling which is why we decided to join a VIP travel club which helps us do just that!!

Traveling may not be your ultimate goal but think about it, what do you want to do when you're also able to financially stay at home full time, what would you want to do?

So I'm sure you're probably wondering how the heck did I do that being that I have a full time job and small children. Let me tell you, if I could do it so can you.

7 Tips On How To Balance A Full Time Job And Your Network Marketing Business

1. Choose A Company You're Passionate About. When my husband and I first got into network marketing I can honestly say we loved the concept of network marketing but weren't really passionate about the company and were actually seeing some successes in the beginning. So make sure you find something you lvoe and RUN full steam ahead with it.

2. How Much Extra Money Do You Want To Make? Sit down and figure out how much extra money your household can use right now that would make a difference in helping to either pay a bill or may help you enjoy different new adventures with your children. When you kids are reaping the benefits from your benefits, they'll understand the times you have to be away from home.

3. Schedule Your Time Figure out how many hours of the day you can commit to the business. This is actually something my husband and I still ask our new representatives who join our business so we can both have a reasonable expectation of what they will get out of their business and how much time they'll need to get it.

4. Do Not Quit Your Day Job! I am totally talking from experience on this one because when we first got started in network marketing my husband and I thought it was a great idea for him to leave his cushy law enforcement job because we were so excited!!! We struggled for many years when we first got started which I think was another reason our first business failed.

5. Make Time For Family This one is probably obvious BUT believe me still needs to be said. Over the years I have seen and still see so many network marketers focus on business, business, business, and the next thing you know it, the kids are 18 years old and off to college and the parents are wondering where the time has gone.

6. Include Your Children Whenever Possible. I know you're thinking business + children don't mix but I can tell you we've made it work, As a matter of fact, we still do!!! Whenever we have to visit a new city to speak at a training event or for a business meeting, we make it seem as though the trip is a new family trip for our children to go on. We make sure we stay a couple of days after the meeting or event so our kids can enjoy the local sites and of course the hotel amenities like the pool and arcade room. Alot of people are so suprised to see us with our kids at these events but we look at it this way, if we can't involve our kids we can't do it!

7. Have Fun!!! Like I said in the very beginning of this post EVERY parent's ultimate goal is to be able to work hard in the beginning so they could be able to step away from the business (not quit) but not have to work as hard and enjoy life like travel, homeschool children, quit their full time job and start a new hobby, etc. But make sure you're haivng fun during the process because life is too short to to just be business everyday.

Working from home sometimes can be difficult BUT if I knew then that all I had to do is focus really work hard at every open opportunity I could I probably would of work that much hard way faster because since 2010 I've been able to be at every school event, trip, after school concert without the worry of having to ask for time off. As a matter of fact, I'm actually researching about homeschooling our children because our goal this year is to travel more and didn't want to let the school schedule determine when or where we could travel to. See there's independence and benefits at the end of all that hard work and the sky's the limit IF you put your mind to it if it's your ultimate goal.

Wouldn't you love to learn how to find more people to show your business to?

Over the years of training and helping new network marketers get started the number one question my husband and I get asked is "How to find people to show my business to?"

The first thing I tell our new representatives is not to prejudge anyone, all their job is to do is collect as many decisions as possible without worrying what the result is. If you're sharing your business and get a yes do you really care about the people who said no, HECK NO right so why do most people worry?

I've come up with 4 steps I think will benefit you when working on sharing your new business with your contacts.

Make Your List.

We've all heard this one before but are you REALLY making your list? If you realized that the list you create would help you make a six figure income, would you leave anyone out of that list? NO, right!!! I heard a story from a six figure income earner in our company who took 6 months to even contact his list and he the lightbulb finally went off and he went back to his list, he moved up to the highest level in our company 1 year later. Can you imagine what his business would of looked like if he would of started his list on day 1?

Connect With Your Contact's Contacts

Have you ever heard the saying you're one person away from your superstar? Most of us in the industry have and think about it, what if you showed your business to a friend and they're not interested right now BUT you connect with one of their friends who totally blows their business up, was it worth it to ask them how they know OF COURSE! Find out who they know and that will help you grow.

Create A Continuous List

This type of list NEVER stops growing whether you introduce the business to someone when you first got started or years later, this one never stops growing. Don't we come across new people everyday, YES so why not connect with them on social media so they're consistently seeing how much fun and growth you're having in your bisness so when timing is right for them, they know who to contact. Network marketing is all about timing, I've had people follow my husband or I online for years and ask us how to sign up because they were finally ready to get going. Wouldn't you love to have that also? I mean all of us would love people to say to us I want in, so make sure you're connected with your contacts online or if that's not possible go back to your list and see if timing is right for them now.

Connect With Purpose

In today's world it's not hard at all to meet new people everyday whether it's online or in person. One of my mentors who's a master on social media shared with us if we're making connections online to get at least 10 new connections online. How hard is that really, it's online? Let's say you're not really using social media, that's ok, join a gym, start a hobby or find causes that you're passionate about. There's some great places to connect with new people all the time. It will not only be good for you but you never know how great it could be for your business by connecting with the right person who connects you to your next superstar.

Would you continue to pushing if you kept being told NO?

As network marketers this can be the difference between becoming successful in your business or not!

I'm sure most of you by now have seen the story of Misty Copeland somewhere on social media because her video has gone crazy viral. And before you look away, this isn't a ballerina story at all, I started looking around to read more about her because honestly it was the first I had hear of her so I did some digging and her story is actually pretty amazing. It actually can relate to most of us even if we aren't in the ballet world ALOT.

If you haven't seen the video from Facebook I'm referring to click here, it's pretty cool to learn more about what she's endured and had to overcome!

Like I said I did some digging just because I was so curious and took away 5 lessons after reading her amazing story which I think most network marketers can also relate to:

It's never too late to get started!

This is a BIG one and think about it most of us whether you're getting older in age or think to yourself there's no room for growth in a company feel like just giving up because you honestly think it's too late for you. LISTEN UP, it's never too late, how many times have you read of the college graduate who was in their 90's or even 100's finally graduating from college!

Don't Use Money As An Excuse

There's no price a person can put on pure PASSION!! If you love what you do, you can EASILY share your love freely in video or on social media and make sure you've surrounded yourself with AWESOME mentors who'll share with you what they did to get the success you want.

Don't Let The Past Equal Your Future

When you take a look at Misty's story if she would of let her past determine her future she would of given up a long time ago on her dream of being a ballerina because there was no one who looked like her successful in ballet. We all will be rejected and have to go over obstacles to achieve what MOST will not even come close to.

Promote Brand YOU

Believe in YOU!!!! Personal development, when you speak to ALL successful leaders no matter what industry they're in, will tell you they work on themselves EVERYDAY!!! Figure out what makes you or your business unique and totally RUN with it with the belief that it WILL work

Seize The Moment

Believe me we've tried this before BUT you won't be able to achieve ANYTHING by just playing it safe!!! Take risks and set a game plan to get you where you want!!

Last year my husband and I attended an event called Top Earner Academy put together by Ray & Jessica Higdon for the first time.

Let me just say, we've never attended any of their events before at all BUT what I can tell you is that it was a HUGE change to our business but also committed to ourselves that we just had to attend this year's event in person rather than livestream as we did last year because I'm sure we missed a TON of nuggets when the cameras were off.

If you haven't gotten your tickets this year HURRY because this year's event will be sold out pretty soon. For More Details About This Event Click Here
Wouldn't you love to be able to talk to just about anyone about your business no matter where you went or who they were?

Believe me when I say I understand how you may feel. When I first got started in network marketing back in 1999 and you asked me to either talk to a stranger or dare to ask me to share in front of a meeting I would of first fainted, lol and then after I got up would of said HECK NO!!!

It's been over 16 years in network marketing now and my husband and I have had the pleasure to speak across the United States in front of hundreds close to thousands of other entrepreneurs helping to share what we've learned over the years through training events, conference calls and webinars. Don't get me wrong I totally still get nervous but because this is something I've had to learn was already in me it naturally came out.

Last year we did a webinar for the representatives in another company about "The Power In Believing In You" and I think this is one that EVERYONE can relate and learn from.
Should you be reading this post? Not sure but guess what, this post is for anyone who is looking to become a better leader not only for their team but to be an example to others. Even if you haven't recruited your first person into your company, I wish I would have known these tips years ago just to prepare myself for where I would want to be in the future.

Because I've been in network marketing for over 16 years now I've learned what to do and sometimes you learn what NOT to do and I'm sure you can say the same thing for anything but here's a four things might help you.

3 Characteristics of Network Marketing Top Leaders

1. It Has Nothing To Do With You But Has EVERYTHING To Do With You

Network marketing has alot to do with leadership and the leadership you provide your team is very important. Over the years I've seen leaders send messages to their representatives about not paying their accounts on time, asking them to place an order so the leader can win a company contest or my favorite wanting to be the most popular leader in their company. Now take a look at the examples I've shared, how would you feel if your upline/sponsor only contacted you for the reasons I just mentioned, wouldn't feel too good right? We've seen leaders be the most popular leaders in their company but be the worst leaders to their team because they make it all about them and wonder why their business hasn't grown over the years. Don't be that person not only are you limiting yourself but you push your team away from you!!!

2. Manage vs Leading

Kind of similar to what I previously posted in tip #1 but a little twist. Have you ever heard the saying "Why isn't my team doing anything?" This is a question we get all the time and in MOST cases do you know why they're not? It's not because of them it's because of you!! I know sometimes tough one to take but the speed of the leader determines the speed of the team so if YOU aren't bringing in new business or recruits, what the heck will make you think your team will do it. Leaders can't just sit back and tell their team to do something they aren't willing to do themselves so go out there and be the FIRST. New teammates is the lifeblood of our business and ALWAYS builds EXCITEMENT to an entire team.

3. Create Leaders Not Followers

The ultimate goal of MOST network marketers is to create a business where they can eventually sit back and enjoy their life with their families, RIGHT?? Then in order to do that, you have to create LEADERS on your team!! Your team has to be able to eventually let go of your hand and handle their teams themselves otherwise you would have created a team of children who never grow up to become the leader they were meant to be because they are so dependent of YOU. Network marketing isn't a scheme where we all follow one leader and do as they say, no way this is an opportunity for leaders to grow into their own and be who they were meant to become.

So what's next, take a look at the leaders in your company who have what you want and find out from them what they did to get where they are in your company & duplicate that. Meaning find out what books they read, maybe seminars they've attended because of course you're going to your company events that's what I'm sure every big leader in any company has also done!!

What's your next step? It's simple!!

Become a student, learn everything you can and teach it to others!

Did these tips help you? If so feel free to comment and share this with your teams!

See you at the top!!

Equip Your Team For Success!! Create a mental picture in your mind that you are out to create successful leaders in your business! You have to turn off the "help button" and create an environment of self sufficient leaders. Duplicate yourself from the very beginning as quickly as possible. Think about it , as your team grows to the hundreds or thousands of people, there would be no way for you to help everyone. Encourage your team to create a culture amongst their team in their own style.

Encouraging Others Is Important!! Great leaders understand this and know how to lift everyone up because it trickles down to the entire team. Your team feels a sense of security in who they are entrusting their future to, think about for some this is a big change that they have probably never done before. Always remember how you speak to others is a reflection of you.

Ethical Leadership! I am DEFINITELY talking from experience on what I've seen in my many years in network marketing but this one I think is a BIG ONE!!! Do the right thing always no matter what. I've seen some of the most illegal, non-integrity things in my lifetime that in the end it ALWAYS came back to bit the leader where I've seen businesses get taken from some because they did something that was no in-compliance with the company. Guess what, the same the integrity you create in your team will be duplicated.

Lead Your Team By Example! A saying my husband, Gary came up with a lone time ago was WDMD "What Duplicates Makes Dollars" What you do, your team will duplicate so never train your team on things that you are not even willing to do. Set the pace for your team by consistently recruiting new teammates into your business because believe me the speed of the leader creates the speed of the team. New teammates into your team ALWAYS creates excitement into the team!! Always work with the willing not the ones you've got to keep pulling. "Watch their feet, not their mouths!"

Stay Until!! Choose a company that has integrity and momentum and stay the course!! Looking back at the company we're in, Now don't get me wrong, there are ALOT of companies in network marketing so I'm not saying stick with something that seems illegal or practicing unethical methods, which is something my husband and I actually experienced in our previous company which made us make a change for ourselves. I mean when you see a company that has success stories, is continuously seeing growth I've met so many people who had previously joined but then got discouraged and left who gets so upset when they rejoin the business and realize what they missed out on if they would have just stayed the course. We've seen lives literally change after just 2 years so can you imagine if those people quit, how their lives would be so different. You have to decide, you can either give up when it gets tough or stick through until.

Always remember we create our own destiny so whatever you work on, make sure that you ALL IN and giving it 100%!!

Wouldn't you wish you had a blueprint list of things to do and things not to do?

I know I would!!

Over the years of my experience in network marketing, which is almost two decades, I've learned ALOT of what not to do and what to do. No matter where you are in your business there's always a time to learn or adjust the way you work the business so I hope that these 10 tips will create standard you can set for yourself to rock out your network marketing business and take it to the max!!

10 Tips To Being Successful In Your Network Marketing Company

Let Go of The Ego. This one is a BIG one and had to be addressed first. We've seen this time and time again with new representatives and seasoned representatives and all I can say that being humble will get you everywhere. Being confident and humble actually compliment each other! Simply focus on yourself and not what others are doing because you're only competition is yourself.

Stay Excited!!! We are in the business of PROMOTING, whether it's a meeting, conference call, a big convention and are what bring our business to the next level. Staying excited creates a vision in you and the people that you bring into the business that you are confident where the company is going and you are excited about how the company can do for their life. Belief and confidence are created or killed by the leader so make sure you are the leader creating the excitement in your business and not the other because this is why most teams EXPLODE.

Be An Encourager. Awesome leaders are amazing at recognizing others on their accomplishments whether they are big or small ones. Most people work harder for praises than they do for raises so what are you praising your team on? It's funny people I've received many gifts, awards from leaders, our company etc but the ones that have meant the most to me have always been the ones that we personalized. For example, when we first joined our company a little over a month later I received a notification on Facebook and it was my upline who tagged us in a video from one of the mentors we had been following for years welcoming us into the business and stating that he looked forward to working with us. The video was only a couple of minutes long but boy I can tell you I couldn't sleep all night that night because I couldn't believe it at all and was very grateful to be apart of the group.

Get Your Team Engaged! Great leaders know how to take the spotlight off of them and turn it over to their team. Create ways to get your team involved. If your team has a facebook maybe create a success story each week to recognize one of your representatives on their accomplishments for that week a little story about them. Share a tip from one of your representatives that has worked for them even if they aren't one of the top performers in your business.

Education! Leaders are responsible for how much or how little your team knows. Don't rely on the company or anyone else to train your team, YOU take charge and teach them as soon as they join the business. Create a system for your team on what they should watch or do as soon as a new representative joins, Whatever system a new representative goes through she will duplicate and use the same process when she welcomes her new representatives so make sure it's easy to duplicate. If you think you need support of course ask your upline for assistance in the areas you need help with and I'm sure most leaders will support you or you can reach out and learn from systems in place who teach leaders techniques on what works. My husband and I have been using a training system which helps us learn how to use social media to get new leads, how to promote more leaders & how to make more money in commissions in our business. If you'd like to see what we use to see if it's a fit for you & your business CLICK HERE!

Wouldn't you love to know what to do after you've signed up your new representatives up to get them off to a fast start?

Ok so you're probably either sitting down with your new representative in her home or if she lives somewhere else you're doing this over the phone, either way this works!

On my previous posts we've already spoken how to create a contact list with your new rep which you can use a memory jogger, contacts on social media etc and share success stories from our company so they could also use those and feel confident when they pick up the phone.

5 Secret Sponsorship Steps To Get New Reps Off To A Fast Start

We sit down together or set up a time to make the initial calls to her list together. Having the sponsor by their side will always give them confidence and helps to keep accountability.

It's always better for the new representative to make the initial calls sharing their story on why they got started and inviting that new prospect to learn more. They could use this line "I just got started and am so new but I'd love for my partner, Lynette, to share more. Do you have a sec to chat with her? This will also help me to learn how to share this with others so you're actually also doing me a BIG favor!" Then your new rep will share the sponsor's success story for edification.

The next thing would be to get the friend/contact to the next event. What's the next event? You get them to the next event that's happening in your company so whether it's a local presentation, business launch event or next company event/training. If they live too far to attend a local event, have them attend an online presentation or call with your sponsor.

Have the new representation provide their contact more information such as your company website, videos, or other tools that the company may provide to give the prospect as much info needed to make a decision.

Last thing, 3-way telephone calls or a meeting so that they can learn and get their questions answered, take care of any objections they may have and get them started. If they've attended a local meeting and did not sign up there, set up a 3-way call with your upline to follow up with them. What we try to do is get them as a customer, representative or referrer who'll help keep their eyes and ears open to anyone that we could help. Now if they're not ready to commit and need to do more research, provide them with additional resources to look over because most of the time their research includes Google and honestly anyone can put misinformation about any company on Google and then invite them to the next event.

Remember the goal with those steps is to help make your new representative feel confident when reaching out to their list, be able to share their own story and show them how to start inviting those contacts to either the next event or 3-way call with their sponsor to help get their contacts started and also off to a fast start so they're making their fast start bonuses which most companies have so they're making money right away.

So you've signed up your newest business partner into your network marketing company, what's next?

Now that you've attracted your new business partner into your network marketing company, don't you want to make sure that they get their business off to a FAST start so they start making money right away!! YEAH don't we all want that for them!!

After you've helped your new business partner choose the business package they are interested in starting off with and help them set up their website. You want to make sure you help your new prospect get their business to the profitable way possible so that they are maximizing the bonuses and compensation plans of your company and to make sure that they are set up to earn their commissions.

Before you begin the next steps make sure to celebrate and congratulate with them, they've just made a big decision and investment that many have said no to so make sure to show them the resources they can use right now to begin showing others. What I normally do is show them where a customer would go to get their service/product and where a prospect would go to either watch the opportunity video or go to get started.

So now it's time to dive into ACTION MODE!!

5 Steps To Enrolling And Creating Duplication With Your New Representatives

Discuss the reason why they started their business. While you are discussing this with your new person also make sure you are writing this down on a sheet of paper because this will allow you to go back to reference their WHY if they ever begin to get discouraged.

Work on what they will be saying to their friends and family when inviting them to learn more about the service/product.

Talk about what they would like to achieve their first month in business? Explain any fast start bonuses or titles they could be going for their first months in business that the company may have.

Steps 1-3 can be ALOT of information for a new person to take in so you could give at least 2 days to follow up and see how they're doing with those steps first. It honestly depends on the person but the next step would be is to create their contact list so that he/she can begin inviting.

Last but certainly not least set up their launch event. This launch event should take place no more than 1 week into her new business so that anyone she's spoken to over the phone can be invited to view a live presentation.

Creating that list and setting up their launch event are the two most important things a new representative can do for their business because they'll see immediate success.

See you at the top!!!
Are being patiently persistent in your pursuit for success in your network marketing business?

Today's going to but a fun post but I think we can all relate this one to our business.

Our son has been out of school for about 2 weeks now and he has been listening to Radio Disney for the love of the music and of course he wanted to try and win one of their contests this summer. He won a prize pack last year and was determined this summer to win something again.

For 2 weeks straight he's listened and called when it was contest time to no avail everyday like clockwork. Yesterday at about 10 oclock CST he casually walked out of his room and asks myself and his dad, "What's another word for backpack that starts with the letter V?" Nothing came to our minds so we did the next best thing, Google!! We looked up all the words that were similar so he then casually picked up the phone and called in. He actually was the winner last night and won an Inside Out movie prize pack, 100 entry chances to visit, NYC, Las Vegas and Disneyland.

So what's the moral of this one?

After he calmed down we explained to him that the minute he gave up being frustrated after calling multiple times, not being chosen for the live air contests or the phone staying busy and just took his time and casually called in without a care in the world, he actually won.

Isn't it ironic that the same thing can be said for our netowrk marketing business. Sometimes, and I'm guilty of this too, we get so frustrated and disappointed that we aren't getting the results that we want we think we're never going to be successful that we give up. Isn't it funny that the minute we just consistently do the work we need to do everyday that all of a sudden success happens for you all at the same time.

I've seen it time and time again, even from other leaders and my own experience that the activity you do today will determine the results you see tomorrow. So don't give up on your business because you are one action away from having true success!!

See you at the top!!!
Don't ya wish you knew what to say when to get people into your network marketing company?

Over the many years in network marketing I think these 4 ways will help you do just that!! Now if you haven't gone over my last post about closing check it out here because it'll give you a great idea of where we're going today.

So based on your conversation with your prospect you'll figure out which approach you should take next so I'll go through the different type of scenarios you may come across.

4 Ways To Close MLM Your Prospects To Your Network Marketing Company

They Have A Genuine Interest In Hearing More About Your Service or Product

To me this is my favorite part because they are actually telling you how to close them. What do I mean? Let's just say they say "Well I love how much money you can save using the service." You'd say "That's why I love the service too because the company has helped so many others save money as well." What I would do next is share success stories or videos on how the company has saved others money as well. Have her watch those stories and your next step would be to get her on the phone with a business partner to help get her next questions answered within 24-48 hours later or even that same day to help to close them. Or let's say they you both live in the same city, then I'd get them to the next event in your area as fast as possible so that they can see it in person which can be a POWERFUL thing because it'll create excitement in them.

They Are Only Interested In The Service or Product

This is quite fine and guess what my most successful leaders were people who've tried the product/service first. Find out which service or product line would be best to fit their needs and wants. At this point, I would walk them through the checkout process if not maybe schedule a time to walk them through that process as well. Offer them any benefits or freebies that they could get as a customer. For instance, in our company customers receive the same discounts as representatives do plus they have a way to have their membership waived. I'd walk them through any offers such as this so they could take advantage as soon as possible so they can reap the benefits of their new membership.

They Agree To Helping You Give You Referrals.

Grab a pen and paper and get to writing that info fast, lol. Just kidding thank them for helping you and your business and try to get their name, email and phone number. I prefer calling to get the best possible results. I'd start with an email about the service/product and ask them to also share that email with any friends or family that may also be interested. Let them know about your referral rewards program which can actually be something your company does or maybe something you do yourself.

They Are Not Interested At All

Of course I'd thank them for taking the time out to hear you. If they're on any of your social media sites, I'd add them to my personal connections. Adding them to your social media sites allows them to watch you and how much fun you have with your service/product and how many people you may help. I'd still ask for referrals so that your contact list never runs dry. Follow up with them every so often to first see how things are going and maybe update them with any new news or exciting changes coming up in your company to see if timing is right for them now.

Now with all things whether they are or not interested the fortune is always in the follow up!! Following up can be something as simple as sending them an email to thank them for taking the time to sit with you to see what you're doing along with maybe a success story they may be able to relate to. You will always need to speak to new people so practice talking to people everyday and as you continue to do this you'll keep those new contacts coming your way.

It's funny how you can make such a connection with complete strangers you've never met.

Today I met a woman at the bank who had a flower in her hair. Before I could ask her, she told me she was from my favorite island, Hawaii. We talked on and on as if we were friends for years. She talked about how she missed her island and was yearning to go back we talked for a good 10 minutes after my transaction had already been done, which to most doesn't sound long but with a line behind you and customers I felt those eyeballs on my back, lol.

The line started to get longer so I told her that I'd go and hope to see her again next time I stop at the bank & she gave me her first name.

Now as a network marketer I should of been on my toes and grabbed my phone and asked to connect with her on Facebook since she was so busy and believe me when I left the first thing I said was "DANG, why didn't you get something from her!"

But I left and went about my day running my errands. At the end of the last night I said I'm going to find this women. All I had was her first name and that she was from Hawaii and wouldn't you know I found her on Facebook!!!

You just never know when you'll connect with the right person who'd be perfect for you service. Now in the industry that I'm in and because I was paying attention to our conversation our service would be PERFECT for her so I'll definitely be following up with her!

For many LinkedIn may not have been their first choice when it comes to sharing information or getting seen online. I know in my case, I've been on social media since 2000 and honestly was avoiding LinkedIn for a while because it seemed to only be a place for employers or spammers BUT I've been doing some research and found some great tips that have been working for me.

Before I share these tips, always remember to be yourself, most people can spot a phony a mile away.

3 Ways To Get Yourself Noticed On LinkedIn:

1. Make Your LinkedIn Profile POP - It all begins with your profile because guess what, before that connection is made, they are checking your page to see what you are all about. A profile that's scattered, poorly written or missing even something as little as your photo makes it looks like you didn't even take the time to put your page together and you will not show up in relevant searches. LinkedIn even helps you with steps to work on breaking those tasks down for you so take your time and really put some thought into your page. You can also increase your exposure by adding a background photo, details about volunteer work, or maybe certifications you have.

2. Be BOLD on LinkedIn Not Shy - A professional social network is definitely not the place to be shy at all, as a matter of fact the more connections you have the more people you can either impact or connect with for referrals. And don't worry about connecting with other business professionals or people in the same field you are in, obviously you have the same interests so making those type of connections can actually be beneficial to the both of you.

3. Join LinkedIn Groups - LinkedIn believes that their groups are the best place on their network to gather like minded people who exchange knowledge and learn from one another. There's more than 2 million groups on LinkedIn, so it's definitely a great way to not only learn from one another but connect with others in your same field.

I truly hope that steps were useful to you, connect with me for tips in the future on LinkedIn. And last but not least have some fun, social media is about being your authentic self not someone else so show now is the time to brag about the greatness of YOU!!

Do you really know what to say to your prospects after they've said YES to you? Do you really know How To Close The Deal In Your MLM Opportunity?

Now this is actually where the fun begins!!!

Your next step will actually determine if your prospect will sign up for your opportunity or not so this is not the time to try and sell them all about your business, no, no, no!! This is the time to let third party tools or leaders work for you!!

Ok so let's say you've just met up with your prospect and you're meeting up in a local coffee shop, this is where you'll be delivering a quick company story or overview with excitement so just pop in that video presentation and sit back.

Your next step after they've watched your opportunity presentation is "So, what did you like best?" that's it and let them tell you how to get them signed up. Now I'm sure you're wondering what I mean, well let's say if you offer a service and they say I love how much money you can save, well you'll say "I know I love the discounts too! One of my friend saved 60% just last week." They'll relate to this story because they're interested in the savings part of the service.

Now this next step is what I think one of the best steps any leader can make, whether you are new to your company or not!! Get that prospect on a three-way call with your upline!!! You could tell this new prospect all the best success stories in the world but for some reason when they hear from a stranger they look at that person as the EXPERT and totally can be all in afterwards.

Before you get your upline on the phone, make sure it's going to be a call worth their time. If the person is ready to sign up, then no need to get your upline on the phone at this point, sign them up and have your upline speak to them to welcome them into the business. But if this person doesn't seem interested at all, honestly I wouldn't get them on a 3-way call because you'd not only be wasting their time but also your uplines time with someone who's made up their mind already.

If it's just a matter of answering a couple of questions, yes this would be the time to get your leader on the phone to get those questions answered and get them signed up for you. One tip I'd give you is when your upline is speaking to the prospect, don't say anything at all. Let them do all the speaking because if the prospect has 2 people speaking at the same time, it'll kind of feel as if they're ganging up on them and they'll shut down and feel pressured and they won't join the business at all so say nothing!!!

Remember to get good at this you need practice so keep talking to people everyday to get good and you can't say the wrong thing to the right person!!

Did these tips help you? If so feel free to comment and share them with your teammates!!

Over the last 24 hours I've received some POWERFUL messages of ideas and leaders ready to rock out their business it's such an amazing thing to see so let's keep the momentum going and help you get more leads for your network marketing business.

Networking or Chamber of Commerce Events

This is actually one of my favorites because when most people are there to tell ALL about their business when I believe these are not the forum to do so. Think about it, no one is REALLY paying attention to what other people are saying so what I do is go there to collect information. I collect a business card from each person and write a little something on the back of their card reminding me of their conversation and even saying if they'd be a fit to work with or not. You may not want to work with everyone you connect with but the important part is follow up with them and say "Hey we met yesterday at the networking event and wanted to get together to see how we can help each other." Let them show you their deal and you show them yours.

Events

Another easy one in my opinion, whether you're at a summer BBQ, birthday party, or holiday event when you get to surround yourself with other people who you probably wouldn't have it's such a great way to connect with new people. I wouldn't share your entire opportunity but if you connect with someone at your social event then why not connect with them on Facebook and ask for their number. The point of the get together is to enjoy the party together so simply say "Hey can I grab your number or connect on Facebook because I'm actually looking to expand in your city I could actually tell you more about later." Remember even if they are not right for the business, they could lead you to someone who is.

Those who provide a service to you

This one is especially great and easy to approach especially to those you've been supporting for years like hair salons, small mom & pop shops, nail salon etc. You've probably built a relationship with them so you can approach them by saying something like "I've so enjoyed supporting your business over the years and now I'd love to share my new business venture with you, I'd love to see what you think." Don't be afraid to ask them for referrals, small business understand the importance of refferrals to a small business and can probably lead you to someone of influence in your city.

Traveling

This is a great way to actually expand your business outside of your local area! Every company is different but we're a part of a global country so in most cases no matter what country we travel to we can connect with new people and share our business with them by doing the same thing we previously talked about, striking up little conversations with new people. Most cases, if you're in the airport they'll ask you where you are headed you can say I'm heading to __ because I'm expanding my business there. Of course, they'll ask you what you do which is your opportunity to go right ahead and grab their contact info and follow up to share what you do. You never want to sell your entire opportunity because in most cases your company has a video you can share that will do that for you!

Create A List

Take some time with this part and write down every single name that comes to your head. Go through your Facebook, cellphone contacts, your Facebook friends' friends and go back to previous co-workers you worked with. Go through your yearbooks, telephone books, people who've invited you to parties, and maybe even the yellow pages. Challenge yourself and create the biggest list you can maybe 200-500 names. Do not prejudge your list because in network marketing you'll never know who will be successful and won't, it's most about passion!! And go through your list and share your business, I challenge you to see how many no's you can go through and I bet you'll get some excited YESSSS!!!

Always remember the key to building a successful business is not by staying quiet, it's by inviting as many people as you can to see your opportunity as you can as fast and as much as you can.

Did these tips help you? If so feel free to comment and share them with your teammates!!

Wouldn't you like a list of places to get leads from that you haven't thought of?

One of the most ASKED questions my husband, Gary and I get almost all the time. Of course visiting you friends and family is first and seeing who they know but where do you go once you've depleted that list. Now that friends and family list can go on for a long time through referrals and seeing who those people know and so on and so on so my suggestion is don't give up on that list so fast because you can take a long time going through that list.

I've come up with a few that have worked for me over the years!

11 Places To Get More MLM Leads For Your Network Marketing Business

Go Back To Your Original Customers

Ask your current customers if they have been loving their new service/product? Let them know about the business side of your company. If a customer has been using the service/product they are your best selling clients and obviously love the service/product they are receiving so why not offer them the opportunity to also become a representative to either get their products at a discount or earn free awards from the company such as trips, etc.

Revisit Previous Prospects or Former Business Builders When Something Is "New"

I've done this in the past and totally works!! You can say something like this "Hey ___, I know timing wasn't right for you before but if you have a chance to take another look, it's a great time! The kids are home for the summer, and it's such a great time to use our service and the discounts plus there was a new promotion that was launched yesterday that I think you are going to absolutely love, I'd really hate for you to miss out on this one."

Facebook and Cellphone Contacts

I don't know about you but I have close to 5,000 contacts on Facebook alone not even including the contacts on my phone so do you think it's possible that there's people there who I haven't reached out to yet, ABSOLUTELY!!! Whether you are calling your contacts or messaging them you can say something like this "Hi ___ I wanted to share some GREAT news with you about a service/product I just started using. I really wanted to get your opinion, let me know when you'd be able to watch a quick video."

If they live far from you you'll be asking them to watch a video, now if they live in y our local area invite them for a cup of coffee. One of representatives, Tequila from Ohio, is actually VERY GOOD at this technique and has signed up many customers and business partners to her business doing just that.

3rd party validation or actually success stories are powerful. After you share the information about your business, share with them a success story from your company that they can relate to. The beauty of network marketing is that leaders come from all walks of life so you can find a success story from all walks of life there. And of course if they are interested get them on the phone with your upline, you can say something like this, "I'm really new at this and still learning, I'd love for you to hear from my business partner so she can help to get your questions answered. Get them on the phone on a 3-way call or to your new event.

Social Networking

Look for ways to create conversations with people whether online or in social settings. Give them a compliment and ask alot of questions. You can start out by saying "Do you love your job" or "Where do you kids go to school, they are adorable?" People love to talk about themselves and love compliments!! As the conversation continues or before you leave make sure to get their contact information or connect with them on social media. Say something like "It was so great talking with you I may have something that you would be perfect at!" Grab their name, number and when you follow up with tell them about your service/product and why they would be a fit.

Parties

Believe me when I first heard about this one I wasn't too excited at first because most of us think of EVERYTHING that normally comes with a party and think we have to do the same thing. But I can tell you depending on your service/product it doesn't have to be the case at all. For example, I'm in travel so for us it's a matter of popping in a DVD and pressing play and asking afterwards, "What did you like best?" Most companies have presentation videos so it's just a matter of having that presentation available and adding chips and drinks, it doesn't have to be such a huge project and do you know that most successful leaders use this technique and it could last from one party to the next for such a long time. Think about it, if you host a party and one of the guests signs up, guess what they're going to want to host a party and so on and so on. Not only building your buisness but helping your new representatives make money fast!!!

Social Media

Don't we all share some type of story online either about our day or families. Then why not mix up your page with a little bit of business as well, especially how you are using your service/product. You can also do things like congratulating or welcoming someone that also creates curiousity in others who'll be wanting to know what you're doing. Most of our new customers and representatives connected with us some how online and end up asking us how to get started so I know this works very well. The key with social media is please do not only post about your business, this will not only not get you engagement but it will also turn people off so keep your page interesting!!

Have you ever wondered how come some people really thrive in their company and some don't?

Yesterday was a poignant day for our family, here's why! My family moved from New York to Texas in 2011, our family absolutely loved the move and enjoyed every minute of it. Even though we enjoyed our first year in a warmer climate and much bigger home there was just one problem.

My youngest son, although he tried his very best, was totally struggling his first year in school. He tried his very best reading, writing and all the other subjects in first grade but was struggling very much. Fast forward 4 years later, yesterday we celebrated yet another awards ceremony at my son's elementary school where yet again for the second year in a row he was award an Honor Roll award and a Super Citizen award.

I'm sure to many people these awards seem to just roll out everyday but what people don't realize is his years of hardwork. He sat for hours reading, writing, and making sure his assignments were always completed to perfection which actually is a characteristic he has himself. Some days my husband and I have told him to take a break and just relax but he's so committed to continuing to receive his high grades that he refuses to give anything but 100%.

Now why did I share that personal story? Many network marketers see the leaders who are achieving the MOST right now and wishing they were getting the same results or enjoying the same benefits as they are. But what you don't realize is the many years they probably had to work many hours late into the night, hours listening to personal development CDs, spent hours in trainings or conventions probably seeing little to no results at all.

Today what many see are the GOOD times, money, vacations but probably don't realize what that person may have went through to achieve all of their deserved success.

5 Things To Keep In Mind IF You Want To Succeed In Your Network Marketing Company"

Become A Student

Learn from those who have what you want and what they did to get it.

Be respectful of everyone because you never know their struggle, especially those who can teach you

Be persistent and consistent with your daily activities.

Of course, last but not least NEVER QUIT. No one ever achieved anything by giving up!
