The Kids Are Back To School, Now What?

So you've procrastinated all summer long and made the excuse that you honestly couldn't work your home business until the kids were back at school or summer was over. WELL GUESS WHAT, they are so now what do you plan on doing????

Today while on Facebook, I saw one of the top leaders in my company post an awesome comment about using the excuse "Oh I'll start my home business when the kids go back to school or when summer is over" and I started thinking "Are these type of people, REALLY going to do anything now?"

When I first started my home business 5 years ago, I was working a full-time job at a call center, talk about having no time. I had to punch in and out whenever I walked in the building, went to lunch or even went to the bathroom and don't have an emergency because that counts against you too!!! Even while working my full-time job, whenever I took a break, went to lunch or even after work, I tried to take some time out to work on my business. I may not have been able to give it as much effort as I can give it now because I'm working my home business full-time HOWEVER I really did give it my all!!

Why do some people make excuses when they joined their home business to change their lives? Here's the magic answer...........

THEY ARE NOT READY!!!!

Yes, they honestly are not ready. You see when I joined my home business, I was tired of living paycheck to paycheck struggling to make ends meet with my husband who was also working a full-time job at the time. I did whatever I needed to do because I knew that I really did not have an alternative.  There was 5 of us living in a 1 bedroom, basement apartment in New York City and we still couldn't make ends meet with 2 full-time incomes in our household.

When my upline or local event coordinator called me and offered me the opportunity to work a job fair or an outdoor fair to promote my business, I WAS THERE. And remember, I was working a full-time job so I only had 2 days off so rather than taking a lazy day off to spend at home doing nothing watching tv I was out there working my behind off. Honestly, there were weeks when I didn't even have a day off BUT GUESS WHAT.......

IT PAID OFF

When I look at the sacrifices I had to make all those years ago, it's a wonder why some people don't realize what they are giving up. After just 3 years in our current company, we were able to reach the highest level within the company, be co-authors in a book featuring 22 top leaders within our company, and earned trips to Alaska, Orlando, and this year Hawaii!!!!

So when you come across a recruit on your team who begins to make excuses what so ever just move on, the timing may not be right for him/her.  Keep looking for people who work in your company as hard as you do because when you do, it'll be like finding your first love!! It's so much better working with those who truly want to change their lives rather than those who can't imagine a better lives for themselves because they may be comfortable with their current situation.

What excuses have you heard and how have you dealt with some of them? Please share!!!

  2. Its like you read my thoughts! You appear to know so much about this, like
you wrote the ebook in it or something. I feel that you simply can do with some p.c.
to power the message house a little bit, but instead of that,
that is fantastic blog. A great read. I will certainly be back.
